The Human Rights Awareness Tour's aim is to raise awareness about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights laid forth by the United Nations. They bring a fashion show, video, the band Wisebird, and activist booths.

Ed Rosenthal - "Ask Ed"
Ed Rosenthal is a California horticulturist, author, and publisher. He served as a columnist for High Times Magazine during the 80's and 90's. Rosenthal has been active in promoting and developing policies of civil regulation for medicinal marijuana. With the passage of California's pioneering Proposition 215 in 1996, which authorizes medicinal use of marijuana, he worked with the state and local governments to implement the delivery of pharmaceutical grade cannabis to patients with a doctor's recommendation to use marijuana.

Jack Herer - the Emperor of Hemp
Jack Herer is the author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes, the book which started the hemp movement in the United States. He wrote that the hemp plant should be legalized because it has been shown to be a renewable source of fuel, food, and medicine, and can be grown in virtually any part of the world, and that the U.S. government deliberately hides the proof of this. He has devoted his life to the support of cannabis, hemp and marijuana. |

With full horn section, and soulful groove imbedded in the roots of funk, Deep Banana is the leader of today’s emerging funk rock scene. The band’s sound captures commercial accessibility augmented with tight musical arrangements and limited improvisation. |

The theorem of turntablist as musician has been long proven in the capable hands of DJ LOGIC, whom with jazz as his foundation has become a wax innovator by crossing genres and sprinkling his sound across the map. As one of the world's most accomplished turntablist’s, DJ LOGIC is widely credited for introducing jazz into the hip - hop realms and is considered by most as a highly respected session musician and an innovative bandleader. |

ekoostik hookah
One of the most original and energetic acts around today, ekoostik hookah is the nucleus of a family drawn to its lucid, improvisational treatment of psychedelic rock ’n’ roll, blues, funk, jazz and bluegrass layered with rich harmonies. Born early in 1991 in a smoky basement bar, the band has been continually evolving, cultivating a sound that has perked the ears of contemporaries and attracted fans who travel miles to hear them play. |

Moonalice
Featuring G.E. Smith, Barry Sless, Pete Sears, Ann McNamee, Roger McNamee and Jimmy Sanchez this band is a powerhouse of old-school improvisational rock and roll artists. They will be playing two sets on saturday before ekostik hoohak. Smith is the leader of the Saturday Night Live Band and has been in Bob Dylan's band; Sless has been in Phil Lesh and Friends and is in the David Nelson Band; Sears is from Jefferson Starship and Hot Tuna; the McNamee's are from the Flying Other Brothers; and Sanchez plays with Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs. This act is a recent phenomenon that has been amazing audiences accross the country. |
